The Dark History of Hatha takes you into the mysterious, yet colourful, history of Shiva's hatha yogis from the 1300's until now. 

Journey with us by rickshaw to far off sacred ponds and dark shrines where we do yoga while tracing the stories & footprints of Shiva, Gorekhnath & Baba Kinaram and others. 

Duration: 3+ hrs. 

Meeting Point: Assi Parking Lot, Assi Ghat

Following the Ashtanga Path YOGA Walk

By Following the Ashtanga Path you will encounter the connection of modern Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga to Varanasi.

Peek into where Krishnamacharya went to college and then head crazy deep into the unexplored old city to establish your asana at a secret pond of Patanjali.

Duration: 3+ hrs.

Secret Sites of Hidden Yogi's brings you to the locations & shrines of traditionally obscure yet locally celebrated yogis in Banaras. 

From Lahiri Mahasaya to Trailinga Swami we weave through the spidery alleyways as you visit sadhu monasteries, mysterious temples & hidden wrestling rings.

Duration: 3+ hrs. 

Meeting Point: Assi Parking Lot, Assi Ghat

Cost: Rs. 2500 per person (private) or Rs. 2000 per person (2 - 3) or Rs. 1500 per person (4+).

Temple Passages with Mark Twain Walk

Time: 9:00AM - 12:30PM or 4:00PM - 7:30PM

Mark Twain... yogi?  Ok, that might be stretching it (pun intended), but this philosopher wrote all about Varanasi in Following the Equator (1897).

Walk the literary & architectural temple trail with us to explore obscure sites and discover late 1800's Banaras through his eyes.

Duration: 3+ hrs.

Additional Information:

Transport by cycle rickshaw on the tour (as needed) included.

Wear comfortable shoes & loose clothing appropriate for entrance to a Hindu temple

Do not eat a large meal 1 hour before the walk.

Mats & bottled water are provided (as needed).

Walks are lead in English
